Great Allegheny Passage
Scope: Trail Mile Marker Reset Survey

The scope of services for this multi-phase survey was to measure the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) Trail from mile Zero in Cumberland, MD to mile 150 at Point State Park in Pittsburgh, PA. The trail was surveyed using GPS techniques that included both Virtual Reference System (VRS) and Real Time Kinematic (RTK) techniques. The trail travels from Cumberland, across the Mason-Dixon line, thru Somerset, Fayette, Westmoreland and Allegheny Counties as well as Ohiopyle State Park and Point State Park. Surveyors coordinated with various agencies for access to gates within their jurisdiction. Mile markers were reset along the trail to true and accurate locations.



Hartwood Acres
Scope: Topographic Survey
Client: Allegheny County Parks & Foundation
Start Date: July 2018
Completed: October 2020
Surveyed the topography, existing conditions, and utilities for 19 acres around and including the Hartwood Acres Mansion, roads, parking, landscaping and art sculptures.
Surveyed 3 acres at the Saxonburg Blvd entrance to create the base map for the design of a new sculpture garden. Established elevations for new concrete sculpture foundations.
Surveyed existing conditions and topography for 2 plus acres around the Hartwood Acres stables.
Surveyed a 2000’ strip of land from the amphitheater, across Middle Road to the first sanitary sewer manhole along Fox Run Road in order to design new sanitary sewer for the amphitheater.



South Side Park
Scope: Boundary & Topographic Survey
Client: Pashek + MTR & Ethos Collaborative, City of Pittsburgh, PGH2O

The scope of services for this project was to survey the 64-acre boundary of the park. Survey the topography and utilities to create a base map for use by the engineers and landscape architects in the design process. Create exhibits and write legal descriptions to vacate Quarry Street. Surveyed the topography, existing conditions, and utilities of surrounding roads to include S. 18th St., St Patrick St., Mission St. overpass, and Josephine St. Surveyed the boundary, topography and existing conditions for the Mission Street Pump Station.
